Maldon in Bloom
Our U3A was approached by Maldon Town Council to produce a garden in one of the public spaces in Maldon. We were allocated a small plot on the corner of Fambridge Road just as you go into the White Horsecar park. There really was not anything much there when our group took on the task of making a little garden with a few weeks notice before there was judging for Maldon in Bloom, plants were donated by Barbara Brand, Jennifer Fowler and Dorreen Linton. Then the work and inspiration came from Brenda Broom, Jennifer Fowler, Dorreen Linton, John Mundy and Margaret Snowdon. I think it is amazing that they managed to get a "Highly Commended " certificate for their efforts with so little notice. It will now need maintenance help from our U3A to keep it looking good and it has certainly improved one little corner of Maldon. Thanks to those who worked hard on the project.
